1What Is the Albion Player Detector?
The Albion Player Detector is a real-time player awareness tool that shows you who is nearby, what gear they're wearing, how much their equipment is worth, and whether they're a threat — all through passive network monitoring. It displays this information through three in-game overlays: a player list showing the top 3 nearby players sorted by equipment value, an equipment view showing all 10 gear slots of the nearest player with item images and silver prices, and a temporary notification popup whenever a new player enters your vicinity. No other Albion tool gives you this level of real-time situational awareness without modifying the game client.
2How It Works: Passive Network Detection
The Player Detector reads network packets that Albion Online sends to your computer — the same data your game client already receives about nearby players. It parses the Photon networking protocol to extract player names, guild tags, faction affiliation, health status, mounted state, and a full 10-slot equipment loadout. Because it only reads data that is already flowing through your network interface, it never touches Albion's game memory, never injects code, never modifies game files, and never interacts with the Albion process. The detection runs entirely in a separate application that passively listens — there is nothing for anti-cheat to detect because the tool doesn't interact with the game at all.
3Three Real-Time Overlays
The Player Detector gives you three configurable in-game overlays. The Player Overlay (top-right of your screen) shows the top 3 nearby players ranked by equipment value — each entry displays player name, guild tag, health bar, faction icon, mounted indicator, and total estimated silver value. The Equipment Overlay shows all 10 gear slots (weapon, off-hand, head, chest, boots, bag, cape, mount, potion, food) of the highest-value nearby player, with item images, names, and color-coded tier indicators. The Notification Overlay pops up briefly whenever a new player is detected, showing their name, guild, health, and value before auto-hiding. All overlays are semi-transparent, always-on-top, and click-through — they float over your game without blocking clicks. Drag them anywhere with Ctrl+left-click and their positions save automatically.
4Discord & Sound Alerts
You don't need to watch the overlays 24/7. Configure a Discord webhook URL and the Player Detector sends rich embed notifications to your private channel whenever a player is detected — with their name, guild, equipment value, and weapon type. Set this up while gathering in the Outlands and you'll get a Discord ping on your phone the moment a potential ganker enters your zone. Sound alerts add another layer: choose from 12 built-in sounds (or use your own) and set the volume. When a high-value target or specific guild member appears nearby, you'll hear an audio cue even if you're alt-tabbed. Combine Discord alerts with sound notifications and you have 360-degree awareness without staring at overlays.
5Smart Filters: See What Matters, Ignore the Rest
High-traffic zones can be overwhelming with dozens of players passing through. The Player Detector's filter system lets you cut through the noise. Set minimum equipment value thresholds to ignore low-gear players and only alert on potential threats or juicy targets. Create guild whitelists to exclusively track specific guilds, or guild/player exclude lists to ignore known allies. Item-level filters let you whitelist or blacklist specific equipment pieces for notifications and overlays separately. Faction filters let you choose which faction-aligned players to track (including a dedicated hostile faction filter). Apply different filter profiles to notifications vs overlays, or share them with one click. The result: you only see what matters for your current activity.
6Equipment Value Estimation: See Gear Worth Instantly
When a player appears in your overlays, you see their total equipment value calculated from live Albion market prices. The detector reads all 10 equipment slot type IDs from the network data, looks up each item's current market price, and sums the total. Items are color-coded by tier and enchantment level — flat 4 gear in gray, 4.1 in green, 4.2 in blue, 4.3 in purple, and 8.3 masterpieces in gold. This instant valuation tells you everything you need to know: a solo gatherer in flat 4 gear with a 200k set is low risk; a 5-man gank squad in 8.3 worth 30 million+ is a reason to change zones immediately. The price cache updates automatically and can be refreshed manually from the settings tab.
7Detection History & Player Tracking
Every player encounter is logged to a daily journal file. The History tab lets you browse past detections by date — see who passed through your area, what gear they had, and when. This is invaluable for learning traffic patterns: which times of day do gank squads roam your favorite gathering zone? Which guilds control which maps? Over time, the detection history builds a intelligence picture of your play area. You can search by player name, guild, or equipment value to find specific encounters. The player timeout system (default 60 seconds) automatically removes players who leave your vicinity, but the history preserves every sighting permanently.
